Description

Mount Rainier is the most prominent and glaciated peak in the contiguous states. It towers over the surrounding landscape of the national park that shares its name. It is also the centerpiece for the 94 mile Wonderland Trail that circumnavigates the mountain. Longmire is the traditional departure point for the Wonderland Trail, although you can access it from a number of other trailheads elsewhere in the park as well, including Sunrise and Box Canyon.
