Fireweed is an iconic summer wildflower of the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Its bloom is a sign of the peak and fall of summer. Fireweed is edible, and many parts are local delicacies, used in everything from salad to beer.  (Not from plants growing in the park, of course!)
