Historic National Park Inn entrance in Longmire, Washington within Mount Rainier National Park. Originally this was the Annex to the first National Park Inn across the road. Fire destroyed the original in 1926, and this building replaced it as the primary Inn.

Mount Rainier is the most prominent peak in the contiguous states. It towers over the surrounding landscape of the national park that shares its name. The 94 mile Wonderland Trail circumnavigates the mountain. Longmire is the traditional departure point for the Wonderland Trail, although you can access it from a number of other trailheads elsewhere in the park as well.
